Nurture, Encourage, Love
Welcome from Headteacher – Mrs E. England
Welcome to our school website. It has been designed to tell you about the community that is Holly Mount R.C. Primary School and to show you some of the people and events that shape the school year. Whether you are one of our own parents or are just visiting our site, please feel welcome to browse its pages. I hope you get a picture of our community life in all its richness.
We are proud to be a Catholic School. We have a treasure of truth to share with our children. The treasure is the giving of knowledge and skills; the building of confidence and character; the development of self esteem coupled with a religious and moral sense. Our school building has had a rich and varied history - it is set in a beautiful environment that we do our best to maintain. Within the walls is a big family that cares for one another. We seek to nurture young minds and characters, building confidence and skills that will equip our pupils for the future.

Mission Statement
At Holly Mount RC Primary School, we aim to develop happy, confident and caring young citizens who are well-prepared for the future. Working together, our mission is to nurture and motivate all within our Catholic community encouraging self-worth and love of life.
Our Vision and Values
At Holly Mount, our vision and values are at the heart of everything we do. They guide our teaching, shape our school culture, and help us create a caring, inclusive environment where children grow into confident, happy individuals.
As a Catholic school, Religious Education is central to our curriculum. Inspired by Pope St John Paul II’s words that it is the “core of the core curriculum,” we place faith at the foundation of our learning. We believe every child is unique, created in the image of God (Genesis 1:27), and our curriculum is designed to help each one flourish—academically, spiritually, emotionally, and socially. We aim to support children in discovering their strengths and purpose, while preparing them to make a positive difference in the world.
We offer a rich and balanced curriculum alongside a wide range of extra-curricular activities. Our strong pastoral care ensures that every child feels safe, supported, and encouraged to thrive. We promote values such as respect, kindness, tolerance, and forgiveness—rooted in the Gospel message: “Love one another as I have loved you” (John 13:34–35).
Assemblies and classroom discussions help children explore moral themes and reflect on how they can live out these values in their daily lives. We also celebrate diversity and encourage respect for all faiths and beliefs, helping children grow into thoughtful, compassionate citizens.
Our School Council gives pupils a voice in shaping school life, while roles such as Prefects, Class Helpers, and our “Special Friends” system between Reception and Year 6 help build leadership, responsibility, and strong friendships across year groups.
We use positive behaviour strategies to help children make good choices—not just for themselves, but for others too. Through our House system and a culture of encouragement and celebration, we help children develop the confidence and interpersonal skills they’ll need for life in modern Britain and beyond.
Above all, we want every child at Holly Mount to enjoy their learning, reach their full potential, and leave us with happy memories, strong friendships, and a deep sense of belonging to a very special school family.
